Used canoes can be a good alternative to new ones and I occasionally have some for sale, usually for clients on consignment. I also sometimes have various canoe accessories for sale, as well, such as forms or trailers. I will be straightforward regarding the condition of these canoes and accessories, so you can be assured of knowing the full condition of each. Full payment is required prior to pickup.

I also sometimes buy used wooden canoes and accessories, so if you have something that just isn't right for you anymore, contact me and let's see if we can find it a new home.

1947 Willits Brothers Canoe

$9,000

This Willits #720, a standard 17' cedar and mahogany sailing canoe completed in 1947. It was sold to Dr. Al Shultz, the owner of Camp Ta-ha-do-wa outside of Tacoma, WA and used for years by Dr. Shultz and the campers, even making the celebrated trip from Tacoma to Juneau, Alaska in 1961. It shows the typical minor scratches and dings of normal use, but it has been well cared for, has no broken parts, and been refinished at least once. It comes complete with original Willits sailing accessories, two original paddles, one floor rack, full canvas spray cover, and car top carrier blocks and straps. The metal screws and fittings show saltwater corrosion, but those can either be replaced or polished to near original condition.

 

This beautiful example of Willits brothers craftsmanship with a remarkable local history and is ready for a new home today.

1956 Willits Brothers Canoe

This is Willits #877, a standard 17' cedar and mahogany masterpiece. It is currently owned by the son of the original purchaser, who treated it with such great care that it is in nearly mint condition. It shows only very minor signs of use and sports the original finish. A canoe of this condition, and with the included accessories, is a rare find.

In addition to the canoe, included in the sale are 2 original 5' Willits paddles, original wool rug, original unused outboard motor mount and carry sack, original complete car top carrier blocks and straps, original canvas dust cover, and various receipts and correspondence from Earl Willits regarding the sale of the canoe and accessories.

1930 Willits Brothers Canoe

$11,500

This is Willits #408, a standard 17' cedar and mahogany sailing canoe completed in 1930. The seller is only the second owner of this wonderful craft. It shows the typical minor scratches and dings of normal use, but it has been well cared for, has no broken parts, and received new varnish every 3 years or so. It comes complete with original Willits sailing accessories, two original paddles, and a copy of the original bill of sale. Optional non-Willits accessories are available from the seller at minor additional cost.

This beautiful example of Willits brothers craftsmanship is ready for launching today. You can be the envy of your neighbors and other boaters if you decide this canoe needs to be in your life!
